Air Fryer CoconutShrimp

Welcome to myAir Fryer coconut shrimp recipe. This is an updated version of our air fryer coconut shrimp that we originallyshared back in the summer of 2017.

When I go to the Chinese buffet there are certain foods that are an absoluteMUSTthat youMUST EATwhenever you go.

My true favourites always seem to include prawns. Which is what us Europeans call shrimp.

There will be prawn toast, prawnscooked in soy sauce and my favourite love is the prawns battered and served inan unhealthy sauce.

But what if you could cook yourfavourite frozen coconut shrimp in the air fryer instead, that would taste evenbetter than at the Chinese and be a lot cheaper too?

Well that is what todays air fryer frozen coconut shrimp. Cooked inthe Philips Air Fryer(did I ever mention this the best kitchen gadget ever!).

We have amazing coconut shrimp that is so crispy on the outside you would think it had been deep fried.

Plus, the worst thing about the Chinesebuffet is that the food has gone cold and dry. Yet its coming out of the airfryer and straight onto your plate.

So, let’s have a big fat breaded coconut shrimp feast and get excited about frozen food in the air fryer!

You can reduce the caloriesbecause you are not deep fat frying your coconut shrimp and you don’t need anyoil whatsoever.

As long as you don’t overcrowdthe air fryer, which will result in your coconut shrimp sticking together, thencoconut shrimp the air fryer way is the BEST.

Air Fryer Frozen CoconutShrimp is EASY. In fact, it is so easy you will be wondering why you didn’tcook coconut shrimp in the air fryer years ago.

To cook coconut shrimp fromfrozen in the air fryer you:

  • Load the frozen coconut shrimp into the air fryer while still frozen but without any packaging.
  • Cook for 8 minutes at 180c/360f then prick a co*cktail into the fattest part and if its hot to touch they are done.

This will of course vary depending on the size of your air fryer frozen shrimp. For example, extend the cooking time to 10 minutes if you are cooking frozen jumbo shrimp.

Or knock the time down to 6 minutes if it is British breaded prawns as they tend to be much smaller.

Reheat CoconutShrimp In Air Fryer

To reheat coconut shrimp in your air fryer. Load them into the air fryer basket and cook for 4 minutes at 160c/320f.

Its important that you don’t cook them at a higher temperature as it will cook your coconut shrimp again rather than reheating them.

This is perfect for following if you have spare coconut shrimp leftover. Or like us if you have been to the Chinese and brought your leftovers home with you.

The time to cook frozen coconut shrimp in the air fryer is JUST8 minutes. This is because when you cook frozen coconut shrimp it has alreadybeen blanched and partly cooked, so it like you are doing an advanced reheat.
