Calling all peanut butter fans! PB&J burgers are delish!

Peanut butter has always been my favorite. I still enjoy a PB&J sandwich just as much as when I was little.

Now as an adult I love to find new ways to add peanut butter into some of my favorite recipes.

Our weekends during the spring and summer usually include grilling burgers. Making peanut butter buns makes these burgers taste amazing.

Believe me, PB&J on a burger is something you don’t want to miss out on.

Peanut butter is so yummy and versatile. Adding peanut butter to desserts or a savory dish can really make it stand out.

There is a great boost of nutritious protein in peanut butter too!

Is peanut butter nutritious?

Yes! Peanut butter is amazing because only 2 tablespoons packs eight whole grams of protein, two grams of fiber and 12 grams of unsaturated fat!

All this for something that tastes so amazing!

How can I make PB&J Burgers with Apple Bacon Jam?

You’ll love the sweet and savory flavors that come through in PB&J Burgers. They are really easy to make and the kids love them!

Ingredients:

  • Buns
  • Cooked or Grilled Hamburger Patties
  • Sliced cheese
  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Bacon
  • 1 onion peeled and diced
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 apple peeled and diced

Instructions

  1. Prep the apple bacon jam. Grill chopped bacon and reserve 1-2 tbs. bacon grease. Add onions and apples cooking until translucent. Add in brown sugar and bacon letting it simmer until caramelized. Stir frequently and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  2. Prep your hamburger patties, melt cheese on top (We make homemade patties and grill 3-4 minutes per side)
  3. Spread the creamy peanut butter on your buns. (They taste even better grilled, only 4 seconds on the grill)

  4. Top your hamburger patty with bacon jam and your peanut butter bun

More Tips for this Peanut Butter Burger Recipe

  • Use whatever kind of peanut butter you like. I love classic peanut butter, the kind you stir up when you first get it. You can also use crunchy peanut butter for extra crunch!
  • If you don’t have the ingredients for bacon jam try your burger with bacon or just regular jam
  • Don’t leave your peanut butter buns on the grill too long or they might burn
  • Spice up your bacon jam with a little cayenne pepper
