The Catchy Tunes and Poignant Plots of Hazbin Hotel
Hazbin Hotel, an animated gem created by Vivienne Medrano, has quickly risen to the top of must-watch lists. Starting as a YouTube pilot, this show follows Charlie Morningstar, the crown princess of Hell, on her mission to find redemption for sinners and a way to Heaven. With an incredible voice cast, including Broadway stars like Erika Henningsen, Alex Brightman, and Christian Borle, Hazbin Hotel is not just a hilarious musical but also a thought-provoking journey. The music is simply outstanding, with songs like "Gravity" from Season 2 that will have you hitting repeat for days.
Bugonia: A Hilarious Alien Adventure
Bugonia, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, is a quirky alien movie that will leave you entertained. It stars Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis as conspiracy-obsessed cousins who kidnap a CEO, played by Emma Stone, suspecting her to be an alien. Plemons delivers an incredible performance, making you believe in Teddy's wild ideas. Meanwhile, Stone brings her comedic talents to the forefront, providing a refreshing change from her previous Lanthimos roles. This movie is a must-watch, especially if you're a fan of Lanthimos' unique style.
Guillermo del Toro's Gothic Vision: Frankenstein
Guillermo del Toro, the master of fairy tales and Gothic stories, has adapted Mary Shelley's beloved novel, Frankenstein. The movie follows Victor Frankenstein, played by Oscar Isaac, and his creation, the Creature, portrayed by Jacob Elordi. Del Toro's Gothic vision shines through, reminiscent of his work in Crimson Peak. Frankenstein is a visually stunning masterpiece, with Elordi's performance as the Creature being a standout. It's a crime that this movie isn't playing in more theaters, as it deserves to be experienced on the biggest screen possible.
The Puppy Interview and All's Fair
In a delightful twist, Kim Kardashian and her All's Fair castmates, Sarah Paulson, Teyana Taylor, and Naomi Watts, participated in our Puppy Interview. It was chaotic and fun, with Sarah even recreating her iconic "HE'S ESCAPING" meme with the puppies. Despite not answering many questions, their reactions to the show were hilarious. This interview might even land me on an episode of The Kardashians next season!
Miss Piggy's Movie: A Disney Dream
Now, here's where it gets exciting. Jennifer Lawrence announced on Las Culturistas that she and Emma Stone are producing a Miss Piggy movie, written by Tony Award-winner Cole Escola. The internet, as expected, went wild with excitement. Speaking of Disney, I recently rewatched The Emperor's New Groove and was reminded of its hilarious one-liners and brilliant voice casting, especially Eartha Kitt as Yzma. It's an underrated gem that deserves more love.
