How to Choose the Best Warzone 2 Loadouts

As a rule of thumb, you'll always want one weapon for close or medium range, and another for long range enemies. For example, if one of your preferred weapons is the M4, be sure to take a sniper or marksman rifle such as the Victus XMR, so that you'll have options regardless of where the enemy is located. Attachments will vary, but extended magazines are always a good idea, as long as you aren't reloading after every kill.

Equipment can be changed as needed based on your preference (though the Stim and Drill Charge are great for quickly healing and forcing enemies out of cover), but the only perk package worth taking is Weapon Specialist. Because your choice of guns is ultimately what will win you matches, Weapon Specialist's Overkill perk - enabling you to take two primary weapons- is a hard requirement. You'll also have a Spotter for finding enemy equipment through walls, and the Ultimate perk, Survivor, will ping enemies you down and let you be revived faster.

Best Beginner-Friendly Loadout

If you're just starting, your best bet while you learn about the map and where to drop is to use the M4 Assault Rifle and the MCBR Sniper Rifle. Both of these are unlocked right away and are powerful in their respective roles; the M4 is a powerful mid-range rifle, and the MCPR can reliably tag enemies from far away. When choosing attachments, you want to play to your weapon's strengths, which in this case means extended magazines and longer barrels to help extend their effective range.

Best Close Quarters Loadout

One of the most difficult aspects of Warzone is clearing buildings and other close-quarter areas. The Fennec submachine gun and its high rate of fire can almost make this a non-issue, particularly if it's paired with a suppressor and an extended magazine. The Signal, on the other hand, is a powerful sniper rifle that still covers long-range engagements with enemies out of your Fennec's effective range. You'll still be most effective against enemies in your face, so don't be afraid to get as close as you can to maximize your damage potential.

Best Loadout For Mobility

If you prefer to strike at your enemies and then quickly reposition, you'll want lighter weaponry instead, so you can still move around without being downed in transit. For this, we recommend the Minibak SMG and the Lockwood Marksman rifle. The Minibak's deep 64-bullet magazine means you can chase and engage multiple enemies without needing to reload, and the Lockwood will let you tag enemies at a distance before re-positioning and repeating the process to keep your enemies guessing. The Lockwood doesn't begin with a scope, however, so consider spending some time in DMZ unlocking its attachments before you take it into Warzone.

Best High Damage Loadout

If your goal is to put out as much damage as possible at the cost of your mobility, one of the best combinations is the RPK light machine gun and the Victus XMR sniper rifle. The RPK in Moden Warfare 2 is unique when compared to the other LMGs because it lacks a lot of the common issues with others in its tree; high damage, minimal recoil, and quick reload speeds make this a reliable damage dealer at mid-range. The Victus XMR is much more straightforward with high waist-up damage. You'll have to unlock it by clearing several tiers in the Battle Pass, so while this isn't an optimal loadout for beginners, the effort is well worth the reward.

Best Aggressive Loadout

This final option isn't recommended unless you're both confident in your aim and know how to take advantage of it. If you want to dominate in the late-game circles where the circles are smaller, you can forego a sniper rifle entirely for the TAQ-56 Assault Rifle and the Fennec SMG. This is a no-frills, high-damage loadout when you only intend to take fights in the short-to-medium ranges, sacrificing the long-range entirely.
